Short Description of the Workshop:

The interprofessional education/practice workshop will provide information for the participants to begin interprofessional education across disciplines through various strategies including clinical simulations. The core IPE competencies will be discussed and used to provide a framework for interprofessional education, simulations, and practices. In addition, integrating the use of technologies to facilitate interprofessional collaboration will described.

Objectives of the Workshop: The participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the importance of interdisciplinary education
  • Identify the core IPE competencies
  • Describe approaches to develop an interdisciplinary partnership
  • Identify different strategies to incorporate interdisciplinary activities in your teaching
  • Discuss future implications of interdisciplinary education Identify different technologies that can be integrated into your teaching to promote IPE
  • Describe how technologies are being integrated into clinical simulations and participants’ learning environments.
