Abstract Submission is now CLOSED

The CSC 2015 Organizing Team invites the submission of abstracts for workshops, oral presentations and poster presentations. The abstract submission deadline was 30 November 2014.

Conference objectives

  • Increasing awareness in the use and benefit of simulation as a teaching tool.
  • Networking and sharing of expertise with other educational/healthcare institutions both regionally and internationally.
  • Identifying and exploring gaps in knowledge with regards to the use of simulation in health care and particularly with a focus on patient safety.
  • Sharing methods of teaching and facilitating using simulation.
  • Discussing how simulation can improve patient safety.
Abstract for oral presentations and posters using a maximum of 300 words should be submitted utilizing the following headings:

  • Aims and specific learning outcomes
  • Background/ rationale
  • Methodology/ description of innovation topic
  • Results/improvements/outcomes
  • Conclusions and recommendations/ take home messages
  • References

Abstract for workshops using a maximum of 300 words should be submitted utilizing the following headings:

  • Aims and specific learning outcomes
  • Background/ rationale
  • Format of workshop specifying the interactive components
  • Take home messages
  • References
Abstract information When submitting abstracts participants will be asked to select ONE of the following 5 categories that best describes the content of their abstract

  1. Technical innovations in simulation: Tips and tricks
  2. Changing behaviors through simulation
  3. Using simulation to improve patient safety and the quality of care
  4. Using simulation to improve professional performance
  5. Simulation and the development of non technical skills.

Abstracts will be accepted for workshops, oral presentations and posters Abstracts should also state if they are completed research/ improvement project which should be original and not yet have been published Abstracts should state whether they have been previously presented at other conferences Abstracts that are not formatted as per the above guideline will be automatically rejected.
